India vs Australia 3rd ODI match: Smriti Mandhana entered her name in the history books as she smashed the fastest-ever fifty for India in ODI cricket history. Mandhana smashed a memorable century during the third and final ODI match between India women and Australia women on Saturday.
Mandhana smashed a century in just 50 balls during India's run chase in the decider of the three-match ODI series. She ended up breaking Virat Kohli's all-time record of India's fastest ODI century. During the India vs Australia ODI match in Jaipur on October 16, 2013, Kohli scored an ODI century for Team India in 52 balls.

The 50-ball century Smriti is also the second-fastest century in the history of women’s ODI cricket. The world record for scoring the fastest century in women’s ODIs is in the name of former Australian captain Meg Lanning. Lanning scored a century in 45 balls against New Zealand in Sydney in 2012.

During Australia's innings in the ongoing match, their senior batter Beth Mooney smashed a century in 57 balls. She is now joint-third in the list of batters with the fastest 100s in women’s ODIs.

Mandhana's sensational effort helped India get off to a fiery start in the tough run chase. She ended up playing a magnificent knock of 125 runs in just 63 balls on the back of 17 fours and five sixes before getting dismissed in the 22nd over by Grace Harris.
She first stitched a 32-run opening stand with Pratika Rawal before adding 53 runs with Harleen Deol for the second wicket. Her best effort came during the 121-run stand for the third wicket with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. The latter also came up with a crucial contribution of 52 runs in 35 balls.
