India women vs South Africa women final, ICC Women's World Cup 2025: India posted a huge total of 298/7 against South Africa in the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 final at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. India would not be happy with the total, considering the start they got after losing the toss.
This is the second-highest team total in a Women's World Cup final after Australia's effort of 356/5 in the summit clash of the previous edition in 2022 against England. This is also India's third-highest total in ODIs without an individual hundred.

Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana put up a show with the bat up the order. They provided India a fiery start and got the South African bowlers under immense pressure earlier in the game. Shafali, who has made her return to the side after a while, looked in remarkable touch and smashed an impressive fifty. The duo stitched a magnificent opening partnership of 104 runs. South Africa got their first breakthrough in the 18th over as Mandhana missed out on her fifty and was dismissed for 45 runs, which she scored in 58 balls on the back of eight fours.

Shafali kept attacking and added 62 more runs with Jemimah Rodrigues for the second wicket. She couldn't convert her effort and was dismissed by Ayabonga Khaka in the 28th over, having scored 87 runs in just 78 balls with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
Jemimah Rodrigues (24) and skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (20) got starts, but their dismissals helped South Africa bounce back in the contest. India had to grind hard for boundaries in the middle overs.
Deepti Sharma made the recovery with an excellent fifty, adding crucial runs with Richa Ghosh (34) towards the end. Deepti played a commendable knock of 58 runs in as many balls, hitting three fours and a six. For South Africa, Ayabonga Khaka was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets for 58 runs in her nine overs, whereas Nonkululeko Mlaba, Nadine de Klerk and Chloe Tryon found a scalp each.
