England vs India Test Series: Star all-rounder Washington Sundar was adjudged as the Impact Player of the Series for India after their five-match Test series ended in a 2-2 draw.

India defeated England by just 6 runs in the fifth and final Test at the Kennington Oval. The match witnessed thrilling action throughout, but the result came out in one of the most dramatic ways on the final day. Siraj led from the front and put up a match-winning effort of nine wickets, including a five-for in the second innings.

BCCI shared a video on social media on Monday in which the whole Indian team, including head coach Gautam Gambhir, can be seen celebrating Sundar's all-round efforts. The youngster had a memorable outing in the five-match series, both with the bat and ball.

"It is a great blessing to be playing four games on the trot in a place like England. Always wanted to do well here, and as a team, just the way we went about every single day, it was amazing," Sundar said while speaking in the dressing room.

"The energy that we created, from a fielding perspective, we were always there for each other. Thank you so much for everything," Sundar added.

Sundar smashed his maiden Test century during the fourth match and helped India draw the game in Manchester to remain alive in the series. However, his half-century while batting with the tail in the final Test ended up being a huge difference in the end. He ended the series with 284 runs to his name in the eight innings of four matches he played.

The 25-year-old also made an impact with the ball and took seven wickets at an average of 38.57 in the not-so-friendly conditions for the spinners. Apart from Sundar, there were some memorable efforts produced by the other players as well. In his maiden assignment as India's Test skipper, Shubman Gill had a record-breaking outing in England and ended the series as the top run-getter with 754 runs at an average of 75.40 on the back of four centuries.

Mohammed Siraj was the leading wicket-taker with 23 scalps, whereas the likes of KL Rahul (532 runs), Ravindra Jadeja (516 runs & 7 wickets), Rishabh Pant (479 runs), Yashasvi Jaiswal (411 runs) and others stepped up as well with notable performances.
