India win ICC T20 World Cup 2026: The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 turned out to be a thrilling tournament with India defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final to lift the title. India created multiple records, also becoming the first team to lift the T20 World Cup thrice. The ICC will reportedly reward the teams that participated in the tournament that was played in India and Sri Lanka.
As many as 20 teams entered the tournament, hoping to lift the trophy before India stamped their authority with a second successive triumph. The ICC had reportedly allocated a total prize pool of USD 11 million (approximately Rs 101 crore) for the tournament, with each participant to pocket at least USD 112,500 (around Rs 1.03 crore).

How much amount India will receive as cash reward after winning T20 World Cup title?
As per several reports, India will receive USD 2.34 million (approximately Rs 21.5 crore). Meanwhile, runners-up New Zealand national cricket team, will take home USD 1.17 million (around Rs 10.75 crore).

9th–12th places – USD 135,000 Rs 1.24 crore approx.)
13th–20th places – USD 112,500 (Rs 1.03 crore approx.)
Per match win – USD 31,154 (Rs 28.64 lakh approx.)

India entered the tournament as title favourites, considering their form in the T20I format over the past couple of years. However, their early performances – despite flashes of strong form – raised some doubts. Their campaign began with a scrappy win over the United States national cricket team before they defeated the Namibia national cricket team. Neither performance, however, could be described as dominant.
After winning all the group matches, India suffered their first setback of the tournament, losing their first Super 8 match against South Africa. However, the Men in Blue bounced back with victories in their remaining matches before completely outclassing England and New Zealand in the semifinal and final, respectively.
"I started to relate to this team after 5-6 months (of captaincy). After that, I understood that there is no point in being a big brother or a father. You have to leave them.
"They dictate their own terms. So, I have seen that when they get freedom, they become a different character on the ground," Suryakumar had said in the pre-match press conference ahead of the final.
