India's smallest wins in Test cricket: India produced a heroic effort to win the fifth and final Test against England by just 6 runs. The five-match Test series in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy ended in a 2-2 draw.
England needed just 35 runs with four wickets in hand before the match witnessed some nail-biting stuff. The hosts got two boundaries on the very first over of the day off Prasidh Krishna. However, it was Mohammed Siraj who stepped up once again and put the batting side on the back foot with back-to-back wickets of Jamie Smith and Jamie Overton.
Chasing the 374-run target, England were looking the favourites to get over the line, but things got a bit tricky in the middle on the back of some tight bowling effort from Siraj and Prasidh. While Gus Atkinson was the main man in the middle for the Ollie Pope-led side, Prasidh got rid of Josh Tongue and forced the injured Chris Woakes to come out to bat.

Having missed almost the whole game, Woakes arrived in the middle with his injured hand under the sling and did enough to provide the support. However, after a few ups and downs, Siraj wrapped things up with the final blow as he dismissed Atkinson on the very first ball of the 86th over. England were bowled out for 367 runs as Siraj completed his match-winning five-for and took nine wickets overall in the thrilling match.

In the 148-year history of Test cricket, it has happened only twice so far that they have managed to secure a win by one run. The first such incident took place during the Australia-West Indies Test in Adelaide from January 23 to 26 in 1993, and in February 2023, New Zealand also secured a win by 1 run over the English team in Wellington.
India's other win in the series came during the second Test at Edgbaston, whereas they came up with a jaw-dropping effort to draw the game in Manchester and remained alive in the series.
