IND-W vs AUS-W: The BCCI has unveiled the schedule for a three-match ODI series which the Women in Blue would be playing against Australia. The matches would be held from September 14-20 at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai. This series is considered as a preparation for both the teams for the Women's ODI World Cup which would be held after that.

A Women's ODI match would be held at the M.A Chidambaram stadium in Chennai for the first time after March 2007, where teams like India, New Zealand, Australia, and England featured for a quadrangular series. The venue also hosted the three-match T20I series and a one-off Test match between India and South Africa in 2024.

The Women in Blue have been in sublime form in ODIs this year. They had beaten Ireland earlier this year and then went on to win the women's Tri-Nation series in Sri Lanka last month, where they had defeated the hosts during the summit clash. Pratika Rawal was one of the players, who had impressed the most as she had become the fastest woman to have scored 5000 runs in the 50-over format.

The BCCI had also included a few young faces in the Women's ODI team. Players like Kashvee Gautam, left-arm spinner Shree Charani and Shuchi Upadhyay, and pacer Kranto Goud played their debut international match during the women's tri-nation series. After the Women's 2024 T20 World Cup, eight players like Tejal Hasnabis and Titas Sadhu, also received their maiden ODI call-ups.

The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side will next be seen in action during a white-ball series against England next month, where they will be playing a five-match T20I series and a three-match ODI series. Shafali Varma would be making a comeback to the national team for the T20I series whereas Sneh Rana would be playing in the shortest format after almost two years and was thus adjudged the Player of the Series award during the Women's Tri-nation series last month.
