India women vs West Indies women 1st T20I: India women defeated West Indies women by 49 runs in the first T20I match at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, December 15.

India have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series on the back of a complete performance in all departments.

The hosts restricted West Indies women to 146/7 in their 20 overs while defending their huge total.

Deandra Dottin was the top run-getter for the visitors as he played a 52-run knock with the help of four boundaries and three sixes.

Qiana Joseph looked in great touch and came up with some incredible shots but missed out on her half-century. She scored 49 runs in 33 balls, smashing five fours and three sixes.

Chasing the target, West Indies lost an early wicket as skipper Hayley Matthews (1) departed cheaply in just the second over of their innings.

They managed to get partnerships in between but India did well to keep things in control and continued taking wickets at regular intervals. The best partnership for West Indies came when Joseph and Dotting stitched a 44-run stand for the third wicket.

Titas Sadhu was the pick of the bowlers for the Women in Blue. She took three wickets for 37 runs in her four overs. Deepti Sharma and Radha Yadav provided great support and ended up taking two wickets each.

After being put into bat first, India posted a huge total of 195/4 in their 20 overs with Jemimah Rodrigues being the top run-getter.

Jemimah played a masterclass knock of 73 runs in just 35 balls, hitting nine fours and two sixes. Smriti Mandhana had given a fine start to India's innings and ended up playing a 54-run knock in 33 balls.
