The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its explosive batting performances like any other T20 league and high-voltage thrilling matches. We have seen some incredible hits to have cleared the ground by a long long distance over the years in the tournament.
It was nothing different we witnessed in IPL 2023, where we saw some of the massive hits going for maximums that went very far into the crowd.
Here are the top five longest sixes of this IPL 2023 season:
No.5: Rinku Singh (Kolkata Knight Riders) 110m
There is no shortage of cherishing moments that Rinku Singh provided this IPL season. From lighting quick efforts in the field to finishing games for fun for his team, Rinku had a blast this season which may offer him a reward with the India cap soon.
Rinku Singh provided so many moments to cherish this season one of those that took place during match no.68 of the tournament against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Eden Gardens.
While chasing the target of 177 runs, Rinku provided a memorable instance when he hit Naveen-ul-Haq for a 110m six to get to his fourth half-century of IPL 2023. He hammered the ball towards the leg side and sent it very very far in the crowd. His massive six stands at fifth position in the list.
No.4: Shivam Dube (Chennai Super Kings) 111m
The all-rounder has been playing some crucial knocks in the middle this IPL season. His ability to unsettle spinners has been used impressively by the skipper MS Dhoni as Dube has consistently attacked the spin bowlers in the middle overs with his power-hitting.
Such a piece he showed in match no 24 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M Chinnaswany Stadium in Bengaluru when he hit Harshal Patel for a 111m maximum over long-on. He scored 52 runs in just 27 balls including two boundaries and five massive sixes.
No.3: Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals) 112m
Even not being at his best with the bat this IPL season Jos Buttler provided a moment to remember with his exceptional hit against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Match no.26 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The opener made the ball disappear as it went out of the ground after reaching a distance of 112m. The unreal hit is in third place on the list.
No.2: Tim David (Mumbai Indians) 114m
The big man from Australia, Tim David is known for his big hits and the ease with which he sends the ball very long into the stands. Such a moment he displayed while playing against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match No. 31 at Wankhede Stadium.
Chasing the massive target of 215 runs, MI looked very much in the game with David out there. The big hitter sent the balls 114m long towards the leg side right next to the giant screen off a full toss from Nathan Ellis. The colossal hit is placed in fourth position on the list.
No.1: Faf du Plessis (Royal Challengers Bangalore) 115m
Faf du Plessis was the only skipper who was leading his side with the contribution of his leadership and runs as well. He was very much consistent and even scored the majority of runs for his team alongside Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell at the top order this season.
Faf is on the top of this list for his 115m gigantic six he smashed in Match No. 15 against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). He also finished second in the list of leading run-getters with 730 runs to his name in 14 matches he played.
