The recent losses to Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have made the playoffs scenario trickier for the teams in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season. Rajasthan Royals (RR) also have suffered a setback with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) keeping their hopes alive for a top-four finish after registering wins in their last respective games. Let's see how the recent match results have affected the playoff scenario for every respective team.

GUJARAT TITANS (12 Matches, 16 Points)

GT lost their last match to MI and now needs just one win to book a spot in Qualifier 1. They will be facing Sunrisers Hyderabad in their next match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday, May 15.

Remaining Matches for Gujarat Titans:

May 15: vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

May 21: vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS (13 Matches, 15 Points)

Chennai Super Kings' chances for a top-two finish took a major hit after their loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game. They need to win their final league game against Delhi Capitals in order to safely qualify for the playoffs. MI and LSG both have an extra game in hand and look threatening to CSK if they lose their game against DC.

Remaining Matches for Chennai Super Kings:

May 20: vs Delhi Capitals

MUMBAI INDIANS (12 Matches, 14 Points)

Mumbai Indians have a good chance to seal the place in the top four and even will be looking for a top-two spot considering the recent defeats to Gujarat Ttans and Chennai Super Kings. MI will be the third team to qualify if they win their next game against LSG and will finish in the top two if they win their last game against SRH as well.

Remaining Matches for Mumbai Indians

May 16: vs Lucknow Super Giants

May 21: vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS (12 Matches, 13 Points)

LSG have two remaining games against MI and KKR. Both are tough games and a loss in both would mean LSG will have to rely on the other games' results to qualify. If they lose both their games, they will finish with 13 points and teams like RCB, RR, KKR, and PBKS will have a chance to surpass them. If MI also lose their two games then, LSG can aim for the third spot. If CSK lose their last league game against DC and LSG wins both, then LSG can hope for a top-two finish.

Remaining Matches for Lucknow Super Giants:

May 16: vs Mumbai Indians

May 20: vs Kolkata Knight Riders

ROYAL CHALLENGERS BANGALORE (12 Matches, 12 Points)

Royal Challengers Bangalore will have to win both of their remaining matches against SRH and GT to remain in contention. RCB currently have 12 points, if they lose one of their games then RR, KKR, and PBKS will have a chance to surpass them as they all have 12 points as well.

Remaining Matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore

May 18: vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

May 21: vs Gujarat Titans

KOLKATA KNIGHT RIDERS (13 Matches, 12 Points)

Kolkata Knight Riders will be out of contention if they lose their last game against LSG and even a win will not ensure their qualification as the rest of the teams either have more points than them or have an extra game in hand. They will have to depend on other results and then the net run rate scenario as well.

Remaining Matches for Kolkata Knight Riders:

May 20: vs Lucknow Super Giants

RAJASTHAN ROYALS (13 Matches, 12 Points)

Rajasthan Royals' playoff qualification possibilities are almost similar to that of KKR with a similar amount of points and remaining matches. They will have to pray for losses to MI, LSG, and RCB in their remaining matches and then win their last game against PBKS. The winner of the MI and LSG game will surely surpass RR in the final points table.

Remaining Matches for Rajasthan Royals:

May 19: vs Punjab Kings

PUNJAB KINGS (12 Matches, 12 Points)

Punjab Kings will have to win both of their next matches and hope for at least a loss to RCB and LSG. They will get eliminated if MI and LSG win both of their remaining matches.

Remaining Matches for Punjab Kings:

May 17: vs Delhi Capitals

May 19: vs Rajasthan Royals

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD (11 Matches, 8 Points)

Sunrisers Hyderabad must need to win all three of their remaining matches. They can eliminate RCB and even a win over MI will put an end to the road for various other teams.

Remaining matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad:

May 15: vs Gujarat Titans

May 18: vs Royal Challengers Bangalore

May 21: vs Mumbai Indians

DELHI CAPITALS (12 Matches, 8 Points)

Delhi Capital have already been eliminated from the playoff qualification. A win in their next game may harm CSK's possibility for a top-four finish.

Remaining Matches for Delhi Capitals:

May 17: vs Punjab Kings

May 20: vs Chennai Super Kings
