IPL 2024 Auctions: The much anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 player auction is slated for December 19 in Dubai. For the very first time, the proceedings will take place outside India. Up to 70 vacant roster spots across 10 franchises will be filled from a pool of 333 cricketers.

As IPL envelops India and global cricket fans alike with its high-stakes drama each summer, the auction marks the first stepping stone in building up excitement for 2024.

Just like every year, out and out fast bowlers are expected to fetch a lot of money in the auctions considering the flat conditions in India tilted heavily in the favour of the batters. However, accurate fast bowling with speed can instill fear in any batting line-up. Here are three picks for these bowlers who can start bidding war among franchises:

1. Gerald Coetzee: Being just 23-year-old, the South African pacer will be an excellent prospect for any team playing in sub-continent conditions. An HTD (Hit The Deck) bowler who picked up 20 wickets in eight innings at 19.80, he certainly proved his prowess at the death. He also made his mark in the inaugural season of SA20 where he picked 17 wickets for Jo'burg Super Kings.

2. Mitchell Starc: The Aussie stalwart has been on radar of every franchise after he announced his participation in IPL auctions since 2015. A delicious prospect for any franchise being a tall, left-arm pacer, who can dominate the proceedings across the three bowling phases, Starc can run through any batting line-up on his day. His current form is also a huge factor, which has been outstanding to say the least, is another reason for franchises to 'break' the bank for him.

3. Dilshan Madushanka: A gritty, underrated fast bowler who impressed with his performance during the World Cup could be a massive buy in the autions. Madushanka was among the highest wicket-takers in the recently concluded World Cup, picking up 21 wickets in 9 games.
