In a must-win IPL clash on Tuesday, Delhi Capitals (DC) triumphed over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 19 runs, keeping their playoff hopes alive.
Batting first, DC posted an imposing total of 208 for four. Opener Abhishek Porel set the tone with a brisk 58 off 33 balls. The innings received a further boost from a stunning rearguard performance by Tristan Stubbs, who hammered an unbeaten 57 off just 25 deliveries, propelling DC past the 200-run mark.
Chasing 209, LSG fell short despite valiant efforts from Nicholas Pooran and Arshad Khan. Pooran smashed 61 off 27 balls, showcasing his explosive batting prowess, while Khan contributed a fighting 58 not out off 33 deliveries. However, LSG could only manage 189 for nine in their allotted 20 overs.
The victory was crucial for DC, ensuring they remain in contention for a playoff spot.
