SRH Team 2024 Players List: Sunrisers Hyderabad took out Rs 20.5 crore to buy Australia's World Cup-winning captain Pat Cummins in the IPL 2024 auction on Tuesday.

Cummins provides three-dimensional services including his leadership skills along with the ability to contribute with both bat and the ball.

The Aussie pacer's base price was at Rs 2 crore, but SRH came out on top in a mega-bidding war. Initially, he was the most expensive buy but was later overtaken by his Aussie teammate Mitchell Starc.

The 2016 champions didn't shy about spending big on Australia's 2023 World Cup final hero Travis Head as they ended up buying him for Rs 6.80 crore. Head entered the mini-auction with an initial base price of Rs 2 crore.

Sunrisersy Hyderabad, who had a disastrous campaign in the IPL 2023, having finished at the bottom of the table with just eight points in 14 matches, managed to make the most out of the event with 333 players going under the hammer including 214 Indian talents in the mix.

The lack of impactful leadership and an inexperienced short-format coach cost them massively which they would want to change completely to make the upcoming season a promising one.

Between 2016 and 2020, SRH were one of the most consistent sides in the tournament and even managed to clinch their maiden title in 2016.

They successfully made it to the playoffs in each of the editions during this span of time.

Sunrisers have made changes to their coaching staff as well as they brought in the former New Zealand cricketer Daniel Vettori to replace Brian Lara as their head coach.

Heading into the IPL 2024 auction, Sunrisers had shown faith in their core team from the previous season, retaining 19 players for Rs 66 crore.

In the pre-auction trade, Shahbaz Ahmed was traded to Sunrisers Hyderabad from Royal Challengers Bangalore, while SRH’s Mayank Dagar will play for the Faf du Plessis' RCB.

While they retained their core group including the potential skipper Aiden Markram, the 2016 Champions released the fourth most expensive buy of last season's auction Harry Brook alongside Kartik Tyagi and Adil Rashid.

Notably, Brook was bought for a whopping price of 13.25 crore by SRH but the England batter failed to make an expected impact in his debut season with the franchise not thinking too much about letting go of him.
