IPL 2025 Final: A few hours after a tragedy had occurred in Bengaluru, where 11 people had died, the IPL 2025 champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru received backlash for their social media post. The post, which has now been deleted was about a video where the fans were seen greeting the team at the felicitation event and that was described as insensitive by a lot of users.
They had written the caption of the post, “This welcome is what pure love looks like." RCB quickly deleted that video after being at the receiving end of the wrath of some users.
The incident happened outside the venue on Wednesday. A large number of fans had gathered to see RCB's felicitation event, which turned chaotic and led to a deadly stampede.

And a lot of fans had already crowded the streets to catch a glimpse of their favourite players and the police were thus seen struggling to manage them. The franchise also didn't receive any permission to hold the open-bus parade.
Talking about the tragedy, Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said, “The crowd was uncontrollable, police were finding it difficult, so we had to stop the procession."
