SRH vs LSG, IPL 2025: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) seamer Harshal Patel achieved a special record during SRH's clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as he became the fastest bowler to complete 150 wickets in Indian Premier League (IPL) history.

Patel achieved the feat against at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and while doing so, he surpassed Lasith Malinga and Yuzvendra Chahal in the list. 

The star seamer accomplished this feat in the 16th over of the game, dismissing Aiden Markram for a 38-ball 61.

Patel attained the milestone in just 2381 balls, surpassing Lasith Malinga (2444 balls) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2543 balls) to claim the fastest bowler to complete 150 wickets in the IPL history record.

In the latest match, he conceded 49 runs in four overs, finishing with figures of 1/49 as LSA struggled to 205/7.

Notably, the 34-year-old pacer has a brilliant track record of excellence as he claimed the coveted Purple Cap twice in his IPL career. He claimed the Purple Cap for the maiden time in 2021 while playing for  Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the second occasion came in 2024, donning the Punjab Kings (PBKS) jersey, where he scalped 24 wickets to secure the award for the second time.

Harshal also became the second-fastest bowler to reach 150 wickets in terms of matches played, achieving it in 117 games, only behind Malinga who got there in 105.

Despite the record-breaking moment, it wasn't the best night overall for Harshal or SunRisers Hyderabad. The pacer ended with figures of 1 for 49 in his four overs as Lucknow Super Giants posted a daunting total of 205 for 7.
