IPL 2025 Auction: Riyadh is likely to host the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction on November 24 and 25.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to officially announce the location or dates for the ultimate showdown however a source in ANI, indicated that final arrangements are in progress and Riyadh will host the IPL 2025 mega auction.

The IPL teams have announced their retention lists, and now all attention is shifted to the upcoming mega auction for the 2025 season. Each of the 10 teams has submitted their list of retained players to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), revealing 46 retained players - 36 Indian cricketers and 10 overseas players.

The retention list was full of surprises as many teams did not retain their captains and many let their main players go. In a surprising move, several high-profile players, including Jos Buttler, Aiden Markram, Glenn Maxwell, Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer, have been released by their respective franchises, making them available for the auction.
