IPL 2025, PBKS vs GT: Glenn Maxwell's Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season started on a disappointing note when he was dismissed for a golden duck in the Punjab Kings' match against the Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

Batting at number five position, Maxwell attempted a reverse sweep from leg-spinner R Sai Kishore's very first delivery and got adjudged leg before wicket (lbw).

The golden duck registered a very unwanted milestone for Glenn Maxwell as it marked the 19th such instance in his Indian Premier League (IPL) career, making him hold the record for the maximum number of ducks scored in IPL history, going ahead of Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik.

Meanwhile, in a long T20 career of 460 matches, Maxwell scored 35 ducks, making him the fourth-highest in terms of the ducks scored in T20 cricket.

Maxwell's IPL 2024 campaign with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru was one to forget, as he managed to score a meagre 52 runs in 10 matches.
