IPL 2025 Playoffs: In what is considered a nail-biting thriller of the ongoing season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday and thus qualified for Qualifier 1. Post this victory, the Bengaluru-based franchise had qualified for the playoffs for the 10th time in the history of the tournament and will lock horns with Punjab Kings during Qualifier 1 on Thursday.
The Rajat Patidar-led side may be one of the most followed teams, but they still haven't lifted an IPL title.
Openers Virat Kohli and Phil Salt gave the team a flying start but it was Jitesh Sharma, who led the team across the line. He had scored a match-winning knock of 85 runs off 33 balls.

The Shreyas Iyr-led side, who have been in sublime form throughout the season, are currently the table toppers. The other two teams, who had qualified for the playoffs are Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans, who will play against each other during the Eliminator.
RCB's Playoff Performance Overview
The Bengaluru-based franchise has featured in 15 IPL playoff games, where they have won just 5 and lost 10 matches and are considered one of the unluckiest teams to have played in the playoffs. They did qualify for the summit clash thrice during IPL 2009, 2011, and 2016 but couldn't lift the elusive trophy.
The last time they played in an IPL final was way back in 2016, where they did put up a fight but lost to SRH by 8 runs, who had won their first trophy.
RCB’s Journey In Each Playoff Appearance
As they gear up to lock horns with Punjab Kings for the 1st Qualifier, the fans would hope that they can finally break their long-time jinx. If they win the first Qualifier, then they will qualify for the summit clash directly.
