IPL 2025 retention Date and time: The cricketing fans will be glued to their television sets on October 31, Thursday as all the 10 IPL franchises will be unveiling the list of their retained players before the auction, which will most likely be held in the next month. The deadline for all the 10 teams to reveal their list is 5:00 p.m. on October 31.
It should be noted here that all the teams can retain a maximum of six players. They can retain five capped players and two uncapped players. There are high chances that CSK would retain MS Dhoni as an uncapped player as the IPL Governing Council reinstated the rule where a capped player could be retained as an uncapped cricketer provided that they haven't played international cricket for the last five years.
Dhoni last played for India in the 2019 ODI World Cup. Except for Dhoni, all eyes would be on Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul as well. There are speculations that Delhi Capitals might release Pant, and trade him to CSK and that there is a high chance that KL Rahul might enter the auction as well.
