LSG vs SRH, IPL 2025: Lucknow Super Giants co-owner Sanjiv Goenka found himself in the middle of a social media backlash after a video of him leaving the team’s balcony went viral on Monday. LSG were knocked out of the IPL 2025 playoffs qualification race after their defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday.
The instance took place during the 12th over of LSG's innings after they were put into bat first. LSG skipper Rishabh Pant promoted himself to no.3 in the must-win game but continued his horrible form with the bat as he was dismissed for just 7 runs by Eshan Malinga.
Pant has managed 135 runs from 11 innings in what is his maiden season with LSG after joining the franchise last year for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore that made him the costliest player in the history of IPL auction.
Fans took to social media to criticise Sanjiv Goenka’s reaction to Rishabh Pant’s dismissal.

Talking about the match, LSG posted a massive total of 205/7 in their 20 overs on the back of half-centuries from Mitchell Marsh (65) and Aiden Markram (61), whereas Nicholas Pooran played a fiery knock of 45 runs in just 26 balls on the back of six fours and a six.
SRH produced an incredible batting effort and ended up chasing down the target in just 18.2 overs. Abhishek Sharma was the top run-getter for the visitors, having scored 59 runs in just 20 balls with the help of four boundaries and six sixes. Heinrich Klaasen also came up with a quick contribution of 47 runs in just 28 deliveries, hitting four boundaries and a six.
Pant admitted it was difficult for his side to fill the void created by the absence of key bowlers as LSG bowed out of the race for a top-four finish.
"Definitely it could have been one of our best seasons, but coming into the tournament, we had a lot of gaps, injuries and as a team we decided to not talk about that, but it became difficult to fill those gaps for us," said after LSG's seventh defeat of the season.
