RCB vs KKR IPL 2025: The IPL 2025 is all set to restart from May 17th, Saturday, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders at their backyard. The ongoing season was suspended last week owing to the tensions between India and Pakistan. The upcoming clash is quite important for the Bengaluru-based franchise, as if they win this, they will qualify for the playoffs. Besides this, it would also be a special match as it would be the first time that Virat Kohli would be making an appearance post-announcing his retirement from the longest format.

Before the clash, a heartwarming incident occurred between Kohli and KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane, which made the fans emotional. KKR took to its official X account and shared a video, where Kohli and Rahane were seen greeting each other in the training session.

They were seen giving each other a heartwarming hug, and thus made the fans nostalgic about their playing days together in the longest format for India. Rahane did play a huge role in the Indian Test side, but has been dropped by the team management after 2023.

Ahead of the five-match Test series against England, Virat Kohli stunned the whole cricketing world by announcing his retirement from the longest format and thus ended his 14-year-long Test career.

Kohli has played in 123 Test matches and has scored 9230 runs, at a staggering average of 46.85, which also includes 30 hundreds and 31 half-centuries, and his highest individual score was an unbeaten knock of 254 runs. He is the country's fourth-highest run-scorer in Test cricket and is just behind Sachin Tendulkar (15,921 runs), Rahul Dravid (13,265 runs), and Sunil Gavaskar (10,122 runs).

Virat played his debut Test match way back in June 2011 against the West Indies. Although he didn't have a great stint as he had scored just 76 runs after five innings but the youngster did make a brilliant comeback during the next few series. He announced his arrival in this format by scoring his maiden century against Australia, way back in 2012 in Adelaide, where he had scored 116 runs off 213 balls.

During that series, none of the other batters could score 300 runs, and greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, and Virender Sehwag looked quite overwhelmed. Virat scored the highest runs for the country during the four-match Test series, which includes a hundred and a half-century.
