IPL Final 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Punjab Kings: Virat Kohli was quick to react and went down on the ground with tears in his eyes as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru lifted their maiden IPL title on Tuesday.
Virat got very emotional as soon as RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The long wait of 18 years ended for both Virat and RCB came to an end as the iconic chant 'Ee Sala Cup Namde' became a reality.

Virat gave it all for the franchise and has been part of them since the start of the tournament way back in 2008. RCB restricted Punjab to 184/7 in their 20 overs while defending their huge total.
Virat was the top-scorer with 43 as RCB posted 190/9 after being put in to bat first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The veteran batter ended the season with the tournament's third top run getter with 657 runs to his name in 15 matches at an average of 54.75. He smashed eight fifties.
In the final over of the summit clash in Ahmedabad, as RCB began inching closer to the trophy, Kohli, who was fielding near the boundary, tried holding back his tears.
"Thankful to God for finally giving it in my lap," Kohli said during a conversation with the broadcasters. "You find different ways to help the team. This management and group are outstanding, to be honest. A lot of people questioned us after the auction, but by day two, we were happy with what we had. There’s a lot that’s been spoken about me already, This win is for Bangalore. This moment is right up there with the best moments in my career."
This was RCB's fourth final in IPL history. They fell short in the 2009, 2011 and 2016 seasons. Virat had a memorable campaign with the bat during the IPL 2016 as he created the incredible record for most runs by a batter in a single season. He scored 973 runs, but RCB ended up losing the final against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
