SRH vs DC IPL 2026: Sunrisers Hyderabad's star opener Abhishek Sharma put up a brilliant batting performance, hitting his second hundred in this tournament, during their IPL 2026 match against Delhi Capitals. Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bat first, and Abhishek made sure that this decision didn't work in their favor as he brought up his century off just 47 balls.

He remained unbeaten on 135 off 68 balls, smashing 10 sixes and leading the team to a formidable total of 242.

It was Abhishek's second century in this tournament, underscoring his growth in the shortest format. This was also the second time that he had hit 10 sixes in a single knock and has become just the second player, besides Chris Gayle, to have achieved this milestone.

After this knock, Abhishek has jumped to smash nine hundreds in this format and has matched Virat Kohli's record as an Indian batter. Chris Gayle has topped this list after smashing 22 centuries, and apart from him, Babar Azam (12) and David Warner (10) are the other batters in this list. He is part of the same list as Quinton de Kock, Rilee Rossouw, and Sahibzada Farhan.

This knock also helped Abhishek achieve other feats like smashing 350 sixes in this format, and also helped him become one of the explosive batters in the shortest format.

The Hyderabad-based franchise's mammoth target was achieved through a complete team effort from the top-order batting lineup, including Travis Head, Ishan Kishan, and Heinrich Klaasen, who made significant contributions with the bat, but Abhishek stole the limelight. He performed brilliantly with the bat and took the DC bowlers to the cleaners.
