IPL 2026 Auction: The IPL 2026 auction is all set to be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16, as per a Sportstar report. Speculations have been rife that the mini auction might come back to India, but as per BCCI officials, there are some logistical issues that have led to the decision of holding it overseas for the third time.
The mega auction last year was held in Saudi Arabia, whereas the 2023 auction was held in Dubai.
Since it will be a mini auction this time, it will be a one-day event, and all the teams will try to work on their weaknesses. The deadline for all the teams to finalise their player retention is November 15.

Before the retention, CSK and RR have led to speculations of a high-profile all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sanju Samson.
The RR has also asked for an extra player in exchange for Samson. Since CSK's preference is a straight deal between these players, as both are from the Rs 18 crore bracket, but they haven't ruled out any player in this trade.
