IPL Retention: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have finalised a blockbuster trade deal, with veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja joining RR and wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson moving to CSK, the Indian Premier League (IPL) confirmed on Saturday.

The IPL in a statement, revealed that Jadeja's trade deal with Rajasthan Royals includes a revised league fee of Rs 14 crore, down from the original Rs 18 crore.

"Senior All-rounder and former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja will represent Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the upcoming IPL season following a successful trade. Jadeja, who played for CSK for 12 seasons, is among the most experienced players in the league, having played over 250 games. As part of the trade agreement, his league fee has been revised from INR 18 crore to INR 14 crore," the IPL said in an official statement.

Samson has officially joined Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. The 30-year-old wicketkeeper-batter now dons the CSK jersey, while Jadeja returns to his former team, the Royals, after 14 seasons with CSK.

"Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain and India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson will now represent Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at his existing league fee of INR 18 crore. One of the most experienced players in the league, Samson has played 177 IPL matches. CSK will be only the third franchise of his career. Since making his IPL debut in 2013, the senior pro has represented RR in all but two seasons—2016 and 2017—when he played for Delhi Capitals," the IPL stated.

CSK also bid farewell to England all-rounder Sam Curran, who will join Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 2.4 crore.

"England all-rounder Sam Curran will move from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to Rajasthan Royals (RR) at his existing league fee of INR 2.4 crore following a successful trade," the statement further read.

The 27-year-old has featured in 64 IPL matches, and RR will be his third team, having previously played for Punjab Kings in 2019, 2023 and 2024, and CSK in the other seasons.
