RCB have won their maiden IPL title as they defeated Punjab Kings by 6 runs in the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Massive over for Punjab as 17 runs came off that against Hazlewood. They now need 55 runs in the last four overs.

Punjab Kings have won the toss and opted to bowl first against the RCB in the IPL 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both teams went against making any changes in the lineups from their respective previous games. 

Virat has been remarkable this season as well with the bat and is the top run-getter for RCB in the IPL 2025. Kohli has scored 614 runs in 14 innings at an average of 55.82 and a strike rate of 146.54. He has smashed eight fifties this year.

Virat Kohli has been a stalwart and has won it all, but it's that IPL trophy that is the only one not present in his cabinet at the moment.  He and RCB will be looking to end the 18-year-long wait and create history. Virat is already an U-19 WC winner and has won the ODI WC, T20 WC and Champions Trophy with the senior team.

Bengaluru and Punjab have played 36 IPL matches against each other so far. So far, nothing separates the two as both teams have won 18 each. En route to the final, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by eight wickets in Qualifier 1, with Philip Salt smashing a solid 56-run knock. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings reached the final by overcoming Mumbai Indians by five wickets, powered by Shreyas Iyer's crucial 87-run innings.

But Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru have never won once. RCB has stormed into the IPL final thrice (2009, 2011, 2016) and returned home without a trophy. On the other hand, Punjab earned a spot in the final for the first time in 11 years. In 2014, Punjab stormed its way into the final but fell short against the eventual winners, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Till now, seven teams have etched their names in the winner list, one of them is now defunct (Deccan Chargers), and two of them weren't even a part of the tournament (Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans) when the league began in 2008.

Punjab, who finished first in the table standings against Bengaluru, who followed in at second spot, have been two of the most consistent sides in the 18th season of the cash-rich league.

Speak of the DEVIL and THE DEVIL is here! It has started to rain at the Narendra Modi stadium as the fans have started lining up outside the stadium.

In case of a complete washout on both days, which is highly unlikely, the team that has finished at the top (Punjab Kings) will lift the title.

The sky is expected to be cloudy for most of the time, and there is around 2% to 5% chance of rain to interrupt the game. In case of a washout on Tuesday, the IPL 2025 final will be played on the reserve day - Wednesday. 

According to AccuWeather, the temperature in Ahmedabad will be around 36°C at the beginning of the game, dropping to around 31°C by the end. Humidity levels will range between 52% and 63% during match hours. 

The constant update on Ahmedabad's weather and the buzz around it is bringing back the memories of IPL 2023 final which took more than 48 hours to conclude.
