Mumbai Indians' bowler Piyush Chawla reached a significant milestone during the match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, becoming the second-highest wicket-taker in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Heading into the game with 183 wickets to his name, the 35-year-old spinner needed just one wicket to achieve this milestone. In a remarkable feat, Chawla claimed the crucial wicket of Rinku Singh in the very first ball he bowled in the match, securing his 184th IPL wicket.

With this achievement, Chawla surpassed former Chennai Super Kings pacer Dwayne Bravo to occupy the second spot in the all-time IPL wicket-takers leaderboard.

At the summit of the list sits Rajasthan Royals' Yuzvendra Chahal, who holds a remarkable record of 200 wickets in the IPL. Chahal reached this milestone during a match against Hardik Pandya's team at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium last month, helping his team secure a convincing nine-wicket victory.

Top five bowlers with most wickets in IPL history:

Yuzvendra Chahal - 200 wickets

Piyush Chawla - 184 wickets

Dwayne Bravo - 183 wickets

Bhuvneshwar Kumar - 178 wickets

Amit Mishra - 174 wickets

Coming to the match, KKR have managed to score 140/6 (16.2) overs with Venkatesh Iyer and Andre Russell at the crease.
