Indian Premier League Winners List: Indian Premier League (IPL) which completed its 17th year in 2024 is widely regarded as the most competitive T20 league globally, bringing together top cricketers from different nations. To lift the coveted IPL trophy, teams must maintain consistent performances over a demanding two-month period, playing around 16-17 matches.
A captain plays a crucial role in building a winning combination, guiding the team effectively, and ensuring that players perform at their peak. Individual excellence also holds significance, with the IPL Orange Cap awarded to the season’s highest run-scorer and the IPL Purple Cap given to the leading wicket-taker.
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have mastered the art of winning in the IPL, making them the two most successful franchises. Both teams have claimed the title five times, with Mumbai achieving their victories under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, while Chennai triumphed under MS Dhoni’s leadership.
