IRE vs ENG 1st T20I: Phil Salt's brilliant knock of 89 runs off 46 balls helped England win the match by four wickets against Ireland during the series opener on Wednesday. After scoring a brilliant knock of 141 runs against South Africa during the second T20I, Salt is in sublime form and helped his team chase the target of 197 runs.
Salt, along with Buttler, gave the visitors a flying start yet again as they stitched a partnership of 74 runs for the first wicket. On the back of this partnership, the visitors were 84/1 as Salt scored his fifty in 20 balls. After Buttler's wicket, Salt was assisted brilliantly by skipper Jacob Bethell and Sam Curran.
He also built a partnership of 50 runs off 30 balls for the fourth wicket with Curran. Salt fell short of his well-deserved fifth T20I hundred as he got out after scoring 89 runs.

After his wicket, Will Jacks and Jamie Overton took the team across the line. Matthew Humphreys (2/44) and Graham Hume (2/36) took two wickets apiece for the host.
While batting first, Ireland's Paul Stirling and Ross Adair stitched a partnership of 57 runs for the first wicket. Liam Dawson gave the visitors the much-needed breakthroughs, whereas Adil Rashid had dismissed Stirling and left the hosts rattled at 67/2 after 8.3 overs.
After losing their wickets, Harry Tector and Lorcan Tucker built a 123-run partnership off 68 balls, helping the hosts post a target of 190 runs.
Jamie Overton broke this partnership as he dismissed Tucker on the 19th ball, and then George Dockrell hit him for a six on the last ball, thus helping the hosts post 196.
