PAK vs USA, 2024 T20 World Cup: USA skipper Monank Patel was ecstatic after his team scripted history by defeating Pakistan in the Group A clash of the 2024 T20 World Cup. The USA hammered Pakistan in a thrilling match which went till the Super over. USA scripted history in the history of the sport as they staged one of the biggest upsets in Dallas on Thursday.
During the post-match press conference, Monank praised his team for pulling off one of the biggest upsets in this tournament.
"I am happy with the win, playing against Pakistan for the first time in the World Cup and beating them it was an unbelievable performance from our side," Monank told reporters in the post-match press conference.

He led the team from the front by playing a captain’s knock as he scored 50 runs off 38 balls and won the Player of the Match award.
He admitted that beating Pakistan was one of the biggest achievements and a big day in the history of their cricket.
"I mean yeah, beating Pakistan it's a big achievement and the World Cup itself is a big achievement. So yeah, I would say It's a big day for Team USA and I would say not just for the USA, for the USA cricket community too”, he added.
He also revealed that they are taking one match at a time.

"I mean before the tournament I said earlier also that we want to focus on one game at a time. And our focus would be on playing against India now. We don't even want to think about Ireland right now. So Super 8 is far ahead. We want to just focus on one game at a time," he said.
The Monank Patel-led side entered this match after defeating Canada in their tournament opener and played like professionals against Pakistan. They have won two consecutive matches and will lock horns with India in their next match on June 12.
Monank also revealed that they are not bothered by outside noises and just want to focus on one match at a time.
"I think, I mean, we are not worried about what people are saying. We know what we have worked on and what capability we have. And we just focus on the game. And we don't want to keep our emotions too high or low. We'll make sure that whatever the win today is, we'll enjoy it and make sure that next day we come fresh," he further said.
USA proved that they are not just like any other associate team as they defeated both Canada and Pakistan in their first two matches.
