IPL 2024 Mega Auction: Delhi Capitals have retained Jake Fraser-McGurk for Rs 9 crore in Jeddah on Sunday. Although teams like Punjab Kings and LSG did begin the bidding war the Delhi-based franchise used its RTM card at the auction.
The youngster, who was initially released before the mega auction, impressed everyone with his brilliant performances in IPL 2024, as he scored 330 runs at a brilliant strike rate of 234. He also made his debut in the 50-over format and T20Is for Australia and has been performing consistently in the T20 franchise league, where he had scored 1169 runs at a strike rate of 152.41.
Earlier in the day, Shreyas Iyer scripted history as he became the most expensive player after Punjab Kings bought him for a whopping amount of Rs 26.75 crore and thus broke the earlier record created by Mitchell Starc in IPL 2024. But, Rishabh Pant then broke the record of becoming the most expensive player.

Starc, who was Fraser-McGurk's teammate, was one of the first few players to go under the hammer as he was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 11.75 crore. This was half the amount he earned last year of Rs 24.75 crore as he thus became the most expensive player.
