India vs England 5th Test: India's fast bowling mainstay Jasprit Bumrah might not get to pick and choose matches to play in a test series as the BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) is working on tweaking their selection policy in regards to the talisman. As per a report in The Times of India, Bumrah's selection will be based on the fact if he can play all the tests in the series.

The debate arose due to Bumrah's 'selective' ability to play three out of five tests in the ongoing five-match series.

“Strength and condition (S&C) coaches can set the workload threshold for each player. But Bumrah’s availability should depend on his fitness, which will be assessed by the medical team," the report cited a BCCI ‘source’ as saying.

With India playing their next five-match test series in 2026, the decision might not be immediate. However, managing his workload is important as well, considering he is a regular all-format player.
