Bowling maestro Jasprit Bumrah, known for his fiery pace and impressive wicket-taking abilities is making headlines at the ODI World Cup 2023. What's catching the fans' attention, apart from his on-field heroics, is his unique 'temple point' celebration.

After a challenging period of injury, Bumrah has made a spectacular comeback in this year's World Cup, contributing significantly to India's early victories. With eight wickets in the opening three matches, he now shares the distinction of having the most wickets in the tournament alongside New Zealand's Mitch Santner and Matt Henry.

Bumrah achieved the feat when he bowled out Shadab Khan in the fixture against Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. India's bowlers displayed exceptional skill as they bundled out Pakistan for just 191 runs, winning the match convincingly by seven wickets. Bumrah's performance was pivotal in India's victory as he played a crucial role in dismissing key Pakistani batsmen, finishing with figures of 2/19.

Bumrah's outstanding performance has given him ample opportunities to showcase his new 'temple point' celebration, a move that has drawn comparisons to the celebration style of English footballer Marcus Rashford. Interestingly, Bumrah has previously expressed his interest in the English Premier League club.

"I had no intentions of making it viral or spreading it everywhere. It just came to my mind. I'd seen Rashford do it on Youtube Shorts as well. I thought it was cool. There's no particular big back story behind it. At the end, I decided to do it. Usually, I'm too tired to celebrate, but that is one occasion where I did celebrate," Bumrah mentioned while discussing the unique celebration.

India's impressive form in the World Cup has fans excited, and Bumrah, while delighted with the team's performance, emphasised the need for recovery.

"We've played three games back-to-back, and the result has been on the good side because our preparation has been good. The team vibe is also good. People are pretty relaxed. They're looking to execute, they're looking to have fun with each other. It's a good place to be now," Bumrah said.

As India heads to Pune to face Bangladesh on 19th October, Bumrah will also have a special reunion with his wife and their newly born child.

"Yes, we are new parents, and we are dealing with it. Right now, she is taking care of our child, and she's doing a phenomenal job. We are very happy parents, still learning a lot of new tricks," Bumrah revealed.
