The Indian men’s cricket team is still waiting for a few players to receive kits in the right sizes ahead of their departure for the Asian Games early Sunday morning.
According to PTI, the BCCI and JSW Inspire, the Indian Olympic Association's (IOA) kit supplier, have been in discussions over the players’ jerseys. The Shreyas Iyer-led Indian team is scheduled to leave New Delhi early Sunday morning.

The Indian players will wear their regular team kits for the one-off T20I against Japan on September 22. They will then switch to the official Asian Games jerseys for the tournament, which begins on September 28.
“There was a sizing issue in kits of cricketers, majority of them have been rectified. There are a few left and they will be delivered to the team shortly. With players needing two different jerseys there (one for bilateral and another for Asian Games), this can happen,” an IOA source told PTI.
BCCI made separate hotel arrangements
The BCCI has also made separate hotel arrangements for the men’s team in Nagoya after reports of delays faced by other Indian athletes in getting accommodation. There are also concerns about the cricket facilities in Japan, including the condition of the playing field.
The Indian women’s cricket team, meanwhile, has been staying in accommodation arranged by the IOA.
“The women’s team accommodation was never an issue. The rooms provided by the organisers for the men’s team did not even have space to keep the kit bags. There are not many big hotels there but the BCCI has managed to make its own arrangement shortly before their departure to Japan,” said a source.
Several athletes travelling to Japan for the Asian Games have reportedly faced long waits while checking into their accommodation. This year’s Games do not have a dedicated athletes’ village, with participants being housed in cruise ships, containers and hotels.
