IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders' star batter Ramandeep Singh has found new inspiration with Shane Watson and Andre Russell joining as assistant and power coaches ahead of IPL 2026. Playing for KKR since 2024, Ramandeep was instrumental in the team’s third IPL title, scoring 172 runs at a strike rate of 167.9 and taking six wickets. During the 2025 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 209 runs at a strike rate of 195 and took nine wickets in 10 matches, setting the stage for his best KKR season yet.
To prepare for pre-season training, Ramandeep is working on adapting to different pitches. “My approach this year is situation-oriented. I’m focusing on reading scenarios whenever I bat and adjusting my shots based on evolving pitch conditions," he said.
His domestic tournament performances show his growing confidence as a bowler, and he aims to deliver again this season. “If given the chance, I want to contribute as a bowler because I believe I can be an all-rounder. I’ll give my best and hope the results follow," he said.

KKR’s coaching staff now features legendary all-rounders Shane Watson and Andre Russell. Ramandeep is eager to learn from them to improve his game.
“Having them in the dugout is a blessing. I want to make the most of it and absorb as much as I can from them. I also hope I can emulate their success in the crucial, match-defining moments for the team," he added.
Ramandeep, one of KKR’s reliable finishers, highlighted the mental strength needed in pressure situations. “This is something I’ve focused on this past year. I want to play the situation, not just entertain. My goal is to be a match-winner, regardless of outside opinions. I’m focused on improving my skills every day," he concluded.
