Amid the uncertainty over India's Asia Cup squad, head coach Rahul Dravid hinted that KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer will be given a chance in the continental tournament, starting on August 30.
India lost the five-match T20I series against West Indies 3-2 and conceded their first-ever series loss in the five-game T20I series.
Ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, India are hopeful that Rahul, Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah will be fit to take the full 50-over toll on their bodies. All three players are coming back after a months-long injury break and sweating hard to prove their fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
Bumrah received a green signal from the NCA and will lead the side in the T20Is against Ireland while Rahul and Iyer are at the final stages of their comeback and playing practice games at NCA.
