The Indian cricket team is gearing up for their second match against Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four stage, scheduled for Sunday in Colombo. The team's preparations and practice sessions have been in full swing ahead of this highly anticipated clash.

KL Rahul, who missed the first match against Pakistan due to a minor injury, has rejoined the practice sessions. In an effort to prepare for Pakistan's formidable bowling attack, Rahul faced both left-arm and right-arm pacers. He has dedicated a substantial amount of time in the nets to ensure he is fully prepared for his comeback.

Shubman Gill has also been actively participating in practice sessions, primarily focusing on handling swing deliveries delivered by right-arm bowlers. His preparation aims to strengthen his batting skills against quality swing bowling.

Indian head coach Rahul Dravid has been closely working with Shardul Thakur to enhance his batting prowess, especially in the final overs of the game. The objective is to bolster the team's batting lineup and provide depth to their batting order.

While KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Shardul Thakur have been putting in the hard work, Virat Kohli and captain Rohit Sharma opted for rest during the optional practice session.

In the group stage, the match between India and Pakistan was abandoned due to rain, resulting in both teams sharing a point each. India faced challenges against Pakistan's pace attack, with Shaheen Afridi taking four wickets. India managed to post a total of 266 runs in 48.5 overs, with notable contributions from Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan. However, rain played spoilsport, and Pakistan did not have the opportunity to bat.

Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, has emphasized their commitment to giving their best in this upcoming clash against India in the Asia Cup Super Four. Pakistan made a successful start to the Super Four by defeating Bangladesh by seven wickets in their previous match at the Gaddafi Stadium.

The 'Men in Green' will be eager to keep their unbeaten run alive against their arch-rival as the Asia Cup heads towards a two-day break."This win will give us confidence, we are always ready for a big match. We will give our 100% in the next match," Babar said in the post-match presentation after winning against Bangladesh on Wednesday.
