"We were good at many times, but we did some mistakes as a bowling unit. Lot of learnings, planning to be better next game. (Batting innings of Pakistan) The roles we have given to the girls, they played well. The role Ayesha had was crucial at the time," said Bismah Maroof. 

"Pakistan batted well but end of the day we wanted to win the game. Jemimah and Richa batted really well. All the players are keen to do well for the team. Whoever is getting an opportunity is pushing themselves. Good sign for us. (First game a win) Every match is important, no matter the opponent, but obviously Pakistan is a big game. Crowd was good. (Before next game?) We'll love to have some time in the nets. We want to work on a few things," said Harmanpreet Kaur.

"I actually don't know what to say. I knew we had to build partnerships. I knew if we take it deep we will win. Richa and I had a good partnership against Bangladesh too. This innings means a lot to me. Hadn't been getting scores for a long time." She thanks God and her family too before saying "we were just taking it over-by-over. If we knew we were there till the end, we would win. We knew they would bowl a bad ball eventually and we would capitalise. It was a difficult wicket but being set helped. This was a team effort. We will let the win sink in, but the tournament has just begun. We want to do the simple things correctly. The results will take care of themselves," she said.

Jemimah struck a 38-ball fifty and remained not out on 53 while Richa played a 31-run cameo off 20 balls to guide India to 151/3 in 19 overs. India win the match chasing their highest target in T20 World Cup with an over to spare.

India win by six wickets against Pakistan. 

Richa Ghosh is on fire as she struck three consecutive boundaries in the crucial stage of the match. 14 from the over as India need 14 from 12 balls.

13 runs from the 17th over for India. Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues both hit a boundary each to take India close to the winning total. India 122/3 after 17 overs. India need 28 from 18 balls.      ,

Richa Ghosh slams that for a four on the second ball of the 16th over. Not the ideal over for India despite the boundary as only six come from it. India 109/3 after 16 overs. India need 41 runs from 24 balls.

Jemimah is leading India's chase after Harmanpreet Kaur's departure. She hits the boundary over short fine leg to take India's total to the three-figure mark. India 103/3 after 15 overs. India need 47 from 30 balls.

Nashra Sandhu dents India's run-chase as she bagged danger-looking Harmanpreet Kaur for 16. India lose their third wicket chasing 150. Richa Gosh comes in at no.5. India 95/4 after 14 overs.  

India are in complete control chasing 150 as Harmanpreet and Jemimah keep the scoreboard moving with a healthy run rate. India 92/2 after 13 overs. India need 58 from 42 balls.  

Beautifully grabbed by Sidra Ameen at the boundary rope to dismiss Shafali Verma for 33. India lose the second wicket in a 150-run chase. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur joins Jemimah Rodrigues in the middle.

Yastika Bhatia departs after scoring 17 runs. Sadia Iqbal scalps the first wicket for Pakistan. Jemimah Rodrigues joins Shafali Verma in the middle. India 53/1 after 7 overs.

DRS overturns the on-field umpire's decision as Shafali Verma prolongs her stay at the crease. The batter takes DRS after given lbw but ball-tracking shows the ball missing leg-stump. India 27/0 after four overs.

Indian openers Yastika Bhatia and Shafali Verma give India a solid start in the 150-run chase. Both batters are looking to capitalise on powerplay overs. India 21/0 after three overs. 

Ayesha dropped again at the boundary rope in the final over of Pakistan's innings. India still have one less fielder outside the circle due to slow over rate. Pakistan reach their highest T20I score against India and also their highest T20 World Cup score. Pakistan post 149/4 in 20 overs.

Ayesha Naseem got lucky as she was dropped by Radha Yadav at long-off in the penultimate over of the inning. Again 10 from the over. Pakistan 136/4 after 19 overs.  

10 runs from the 18th over. Pakistan have managed to accelerate the scoring rate as they accumulated 50 runs in the last five overs. Pakistan 126/4 after 18 overs.

Bismah Maroof completes her fifty off 45 balls. Steady knock by the Pakistan skipper in the high-pressure game. She has smashed four boundaries in her innings so far. ,

First six of the match from Ayesha Naseem against Renuka Singh. Pakistan young better getting the better of the bowler as Ayesha hammers a six over long off. And a four on the next delivery. 18 from the over. Pakistan 109/4 after 16 overs.

Radha Yadav picks her second wicket of the match as she breaks the crucial fourth-wicket partnership between Sidra Ameen and Bishmah Maroof. Unlucky Sidra got caught behind the stumps by Richa Gosh after scoring 11 off 18 balls. Pakistan 74/4 after 13 overs.

Shafali Verma comes into the attack after the drinks break and delivers on point. She is carrying the experience of bowling in the U19 World Cup in South Africa. Just three runs from it, Pakistan 61/3 after 11 overs.   

India keep the scoring rate under six after the halfway mark. Pakistan Sidra Ameen and Bismah Maroof add eight runs in the 10th over. Pakistan 58/3 after 10 overs.

Pakistan lose another wicket in quick succession. This time, Nida Dar departs on a duck. Pooja Vastrakar banged in a bouncer and Dar went for the pull but the ball went to the keeper down the leg side. Pakistan 50/3 after 9 overs. 

Radha Yadav picks the second wicket for India. The spinner removes opener Muneeba Ali departs for 12. Pakistan 42/2 after 7 overs.

The early introduction of spin has worked for India as Deepti Sharma bags Javeria Khan in her first over of the innings. Javeria departs after scoring eight runs. Pakistan 11/1 after two overs.  

This pitch will play similar to the last game. It will be a great cricket wicket despite a few cracks. It might be a bit two-paced but should still be a great cricket match.

"We'd like to bat first. It is a dry wicket, won't change much so we'd like to put up a total. (On Diana Baig) It is unlucky she is not here with us, but this is an opportunity for someone else to perform. We have the confidence because we won against India last time but conditions are different here," said Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof. 

"We wanted to bat because these wickets are a bit tricky. She (Smriti Mandhana) will be fine but we have added an extra batter for today - Harleen in there, Shikha misses out. I think these wickets will help us, we are a very good bowling side. Our bowlers performed well in the tri-series before as well," India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said at the toss.

Pakistan skipper Bismah Maroof has won the toss and opted to bat first against India in the Women's T20 World Cup match in Cape Town. 

“We’re really happy that our under-19 team did really well, and we are also looking forward to our own campaign,” captain Harmanpreet Kaur said.

“The winning momentum has started. We also want to continue with that.”

“Smriti has a finger injury and is still (in) recovery, so she won’t play most likely. It’s not a fracture and we’re hopeful she will be available from the second game onwards,” India head coach Hrishikesh Kanitkar had said during a press conference.
