LSG vs GT, IPL 2024: Lucknow Super Giants might have suffered a huge injury scare as star pacer Mayank Yadav was seen leaving the field during their match against Gujarat Titans on Sunday, April 7.

Mayank, who bowled just one over in the match, that too in the powerplay, looked off-colour as he gave away 13 runs and ended up leaving the field with a potential discomfort.

He reportedly ended up picking a side strain, raising concerns for LSG who picked up momentum in the tournament with two successive wins after losing their opening match.

Notably, Yadav who made his IPL debut this season, ended up with heroic performances in both of LSG's wins against Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The pacer's fastest ball was bowled at 140.9 KMPH, far below his standards this season, having bowled a 155.8 kmph delivery in his debut match and a 156.7 kmph (fastest ball of the IPL 2024) delivery against RCB.

Mayank was hit for three boundaries in his very first over by Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan.

Later, Lucknow all-rounder Krunal Pandya said the young pacer seemed all right after coming off the field.

"I had a brief chat (with Mayank) and he seemed okay, which is a positive.
"Whatever conversation I have had, whatever we see, he has a good head on his shoulder. Really excited to see how his career pans out," said Krunal in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Talking about the match, LSG posted a challenging total of 163/5 in their 20 overs after opting to bat first with Marcus Stoinis being the top run-getter.

Stoinis scored 58 runs in 43 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes.

While skipper KL Rahul scored 33 in 31 balls, Nicholas Pooran contributed with 32 off 22 with three sixes to his name.

For GT, Umesh Yadav and Darshan Nalkande picked up two wickets whereas Rashid Khan took a wicket as well.

LSG, despite in absence of Mayank ended up winning the match with Yash Thakur and Krunal Pandya shining with the ball to bowl the visitors out for 130 in 18.5 overs.

They defeated GT by 33 runs, registering their third successive win of the season.
