Ireland vs West Indies 2nd ODI: Matthew Forde, the West Indies batter, scripted history as he matched the world record of fastest ODI fifty during their second ODI match against Ireland on Friday. Forde completed his fifty in just 16 balls, equalling legendary South African batter AB de Villiers’ world record.

AB de Villiers also scored a half-century for the South African team in 16 balls during the ODI match played against the West Indies in Johannesburg on January 18, 2015. The former South Africa captain went on to play a memorable knock of 149 runs in just 44 balls on the back of nine fours and 16 sixes. On the other hand, Forde played a 58-run knock in just 19 deliveries, hitting two fours and eight sixes.

His fiery contribution helped the West Indies post a mammoth total of 352/8 in their 50 overs after being put into bat first. Keacy Carty was the top run-getter for the Men in Marron, having scored 102 runs with the help of 13 fours and a six.
