Akash Madhwal returned with figures of 4-37 in his four overs after picking two wickets in his final over. He sent Heinrich Klaasen (18) and Harry Brook (0) back to the pavilion in the 19th over.

"I'm playing today. This year, I have bowled few overs and taken only 5 wickets in 7 games. I believe in hard work. Today I get a chance, hopefully I perform well. I haven't compromised on my pace, I am trying to bowl in the right areas and also working on variations. When the team needs wickets, I try to take wickets, otherwise I try to stop the flow of runs. I am playing after a while, so I'll try to do my best and execute my plans," he said before the match.

"We would want to finish strong. Another oppurtunity for the squad and a few of the players. There are a couple of changes. Exciting changes for us. Can't remember most of them. High-scoring venue. It should be a great time for the batters as we have nothing to lose," Aiden Markram said at the toss.

"We are gonna chase. Just the nature of the pitch. It is a little dry as well. Whatever it has to happen will happen in the first innings. Shokeen is not playing. Kartikeya is in. It is a tricky one. We just want to win the game and not think about how to do it. Winning gives us a chance. Not looking too far ahead. We have talked in the team meeting what to do. We have played an afternoon game before. We are aware of what the pitch and the conditions here. You just need to play well to win," Rohit Sharma said at the toss.

Rohit Sharma has won the toss and opted to bowl first against Sunrises Hyderabad in a must-win clash.

"Dimensions - 63 metres and 67 metres square, 72 metres downtown. I see the red soil sticking out. From history, this is a very very good wicket. The wicket is knit together quite nicely which means it's a good cricket wicket. Yorkers and good length has worked for the bowlers, everything else has been absolutely dispatched. It's a great surface, heavy length, top of off-stump is absolutely vital because of how good the wicket is," say Simon Doull and Kevin Pietersen.  

"This game tomorrow and the previous game, you want to see players come out, so we are relaxed in our selection policy and still put a team out on park that will compete. I don't think we shuffled too much unnecessarily. We played the best 12 that we could find. We have to learn from and it's not a great idea to think about what went wrong," said SRH coach Lara.

"Absolutely, we have the advantage because having a home game is always better irrespective of the team we play against. This is our last league game and whenever you think about it, you always think it would be better to end the league round with a home game. The support will be good obviously. It will be hot tomorrow but it will be fun," said MI's Suryakumar Yadav on the eve of the clash.  

Mumbai Indians enjoyed a successful home record, earning four victories in six matches so far. Mumbai Indians will attempt to increase their Net Run Rate (NRR) and produce another successful result at their home ground.
