Ex-Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is still considered one of the most famous cricketers and also in the world. For Indian cricket fans, Dhoni's name even surpasses players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Steve Smith, Joe Root, and Kane Williamson. In his leadership, the Men in Blue won the 2007 T20 World, 2011 ODI World Cup, and 2013 Champions Trophy and is the only captain to have won three ICC tournaments.

What surprised everyone was that the legendary Indian cricketer hasn't entered politics yet. There were speculations over the last few years, but these were dismissed as there was no official. This could be owing to their IPL career as he plays for CSK. Since he is not the skipper anymore.

Dhoni not entering politics is also is also owing to his human nature of of staying away from the spotlight. Ex-cricketers have revealed that Dhoni doesn't have a personal mobile and if anyone wants to contact him, they have to contact his agent.

BCCI vice-president spills the beans on MS Dhoni and politics

Rajeev Shukla, who is BCCI's vice-president, recently dropped a bombshell about Dhoni's ability to become a good politician, during an interaction on YouTube channel, he reckoned that Dhoni can become a good politician.

“I feel Dhoni can become a politician,” he was quoted as saying on Beer's biceps.

“It is up to him if he will become a politician or not. Sourav, I always felt he would enter Bengal politics. Dhoni can also be good in politics. He will win easily, he is popular I don't know if he will enter politics, it is purely in his hands,” he added.

He also talked about an interesting conversation he had with Dhoni as there were rumors that he might contest the elections. “I asked him once that I heard that he was going to contest for Lok Sabha seat, he said ‘No, no, no’,” he added.

He also talked about Dhoni's nature of staying away from politics and said, “It is nature to stay hidden, he doesn't even keep a mobile phone with him. It was even hard for the BCCI selectors to approach him, as there was no mobile with him,”.

“It is his nature to go away from fame or whatever is his nature. He is not a hermit. He does things seriously, there is no lightness in it,” he concluded.

CSK retained him ahead of IPL 2025. He hasn't announced his retirement yet so the idea of him coming into politics is too far.
