Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2025: MS Dhoni had a brilliant day behind the stumps during the Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings IPL 2025 match at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Monday, April 14.

Dhoni produced a moment of magic during the last over of LSG's innings after the hosts were put into bat first. The CSK skipper's incredible effort got the better of Abdul Samad with a magnificent run out. He followed it with a crucial catch to get rid of LSG skipper Rishabh Pant.

Matheesha Pathirana stepped up to bowl the last over and started with a wide. Pant took a single to give the strike to Samad. Pathirana bowled another wide, and Dhoni did well to stop the ball down the leg side. However, Pant made an attempt to run and get the strike back, but Dhoni was quick to release the ball, and his underarm throw ended up hitting the stumps at the non-striker's end. Samad was well short of the crease and departed for 20 runs.

MS Dhoni's impressive run out received massive applause from his teammates, commentators and the massive crowd at the venue as the CSK skipper came up with a notable display that he's still got it even at the age of 43.

In the same over, Pant hit it very high in the sky and Dhoni was calm enough to first make a call and then ended up completing the tough catch with no panic at all.

Earlier, Dhoni scripted history as he became the first player to complete 200 dismissals in the history of the IPL. He produced a clever stumping to remove Ayush Badoni 14th over of the match.

LSG did well to post a challenging total of 166/7 in their 20 overs on a tricky wicket on the back of skipper Pant's 63-run knock in 49 balls. After a disappointing start to the tournament with the bat, Pant finally looked in promising touch and ended up hitting his first fifty of this season.
