Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Titans IPL 2025: India and Mumbai Indians (MI) prolific batter Rohit Sharma is on the cusp of a monumental milestone as he is just 79 runs shy of joining Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batting mainstay Virat Kohli in an elite list for scorers in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After an unhurried start to IPL 2025, Mumbai Indians' stalwart rediscovered his form as he scored 82 runs from six matches.

However, the MI star found his footing against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) with a blistering knock of 76 off 45, helping Mumbai Indians register a nine-wicket victory. Since then, the 38-year-old star has scored three fifties in his last four innings.

With his bat sizzling once again, Rohit is all set to engrave his name as he is just 79 runs away from completing 7000 runs in his IPL career, becoming just the second player to accomplish the feat. 

The former MI captain is the second-highest run scorer in the IPL with 6921 runs from 262 innings with two hundreds and 46 fifties.

Meanwhile, Rohit is also just three maximums away from achieving 300 sixes in IPL history and becoming the first Indian player to accomplish the landmark.

The former MI captain is only behind RCB legend Chris Gayle in the list, who holds the top position with 357 maximums in 141 innings. Meanwhile, Rohit has smacked 297 sixes from 262 innings.
