He now stands on the elite list which already features Yuvraj Singh (off Stuart Broad in Durban in the 2007 T20 World Cup) and Kieron Pollard (off Akila Dananjaya in Coolidge in 2021).
Notably, a similar feat has been achieved in the ODI format only by Herschelle Gibbs and USA's Jaskaran Malhotra.
Dipendra previously achieved the headlines when he shattered the record of Yuvraj Singhโs 12-ball half-century.
He created a new world record for the fastest T20I fifty in nine balls against Mongolia during the 2023 Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China.
He had achieved a similar feat once previously but the consecutive sixes on that occasion came across two overs.
While playing against Mongolia at the Asian Games last year, Airee smashed his first five sixes in one over off Mungun Altankhuyag before making it six on the first ball he faced in the next over off Luvsanzundui Erdenebulgan.
Talking about the match, Nepal picked up a dominating victory, having restricted Qatar to 178/9 in their 20 overs.
While they won the match by 32 runs, Airee contributed with two wickets as well and was eventually adjudged as the Player of the Match.
