New Zealand National Cricket Team vs West Indies Cricket Team Timeline: West Indies earned themselves the final day of the 1st Test courtesy of a stellar hundred from batter Shai Hope, helping them reach 212-4 on Friday. Notably, the hosts have set Windies a target of 531 with Hope and Justin Greaves holding the fort for the visitors. Suffering an eye infection, Hope remains not out on 116 as he conjured a 140-run stand with Greaves for the unbroken fifth wicket. New Zealand have been struck by mid-match injuries to pacers Nathan Smith and Matt Henry.
West Indies need 319 more as they look to chase history on Day 5.
"They're much better than they were a couple of days ago, but still not where I want to be, but I guess I'm seeing it well enough to be hitting the ball," Hope, who hit 15 fours and a six, said of his infection.
