This would be Devine's ninth straight appearance at the Women's T20 World Cup and she will hope to lift the trophy that has evaded the side since they ended runners-up in 2009 and 2010, the first two editions of the tournament.

The squad boasts lots of knowledge with Suzie Bates, Lea Tahuhu, Amelia Kerr and Maddy Green in the combination. Both Devine and Bates have appeared at every edition of the Women's T20 World Cup.

New Zealand's pace attack has been bolstered by the return of Rosemary Mair, who missed the England tour due to a back injury. She joins a strong pace contingent comprising Jess Kerr, Tahuhu, Hannah Rowe, and Molly Penfold.

The spin department also looks well-rounded, with Leigh Kasperek, Amelia Kerr, and Fran Jonas offering a good mix of skills suitable for the UAE conditions.

New Zealand White Ferns coach Ben Sawyer is confident in his team's capability to succeed at the T20 WC, quoting a well-balanced squad that combines experienced players with young talent.

“Congratulations to all of the players named in this squad, it’s a significant achievement to be selected to represent your country at a World Cup,” Sawyer said as quoted by ICC.

“I’m really pleased with this squad, I think these are our best 15 players to adapt to what will likely be varied conditions," he added.

Coach Sawyer praised veterans Sophie Devine and Suzie Bates for earning their spots in the squad once again, calling it a "tremendous effort".

“Soph and Suze have a huge amount of tournament experience from World Cups to franchise leagues, so we’ll certainly be leaning on that knowledge in what’s going to be a pretty intense competition," he added.

New Zealand have been drawn in Group A alongside Australia, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Women's T20 World Cup, starting in October. The White Frens will play warm-up games against South Africa and England ahead of the main tournament.
