NZ vs BAN Test Series: After their heartbreak loss in the ODI World Cup semi-final against India, New Zealand will be shifting their focus to red-ball cricket against the challenging-to-beat Bangladesh side, especially on their home turf.
Najmul Hossain Shanto is named the skipper for the Bangladesh Test squad, while Tim Southee will lead the blackcaps in the 2-match test series. The Kiwis earlier secured a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series played before the Cricket World Cup 2023, with the first match being washed out.
Following a stellar World Cup 2023, Rachin Ravindra, who last played a Test match against Bangladesh in January 2022, has been included in the squad.

The Kiwi test squad boasts the inclusion of left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner and versatile all-rounder Kyle Jamieson, contributing depth and skill to their roster alongside the seasoned Kane Williamson.

The 1st Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand is scheduled to commence from November 28 to December 2, 2023, starting at 9 AM IST at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.

The 2nd Test match between Bangladesh and New Zealand is set to take place from December 6 to December 10, 2023, beginning at 9 AM IST at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.

In the 17 Test matches played between Bangladesh and New Zealand, Bangladesh have managed to secure victory in only one match, while New Zealand have emerged victorious in 13 encounters. The teams have battled to a draw on three occasions.

Neil Wagner has been brought in as a replacement for the injured Matt Henry in the New Zealand Test squad, after the former sustained a hamstring injury in the World Cup.
Bangladesh will be without the services of pacer Taskin Ahmed, sidelined due to a shoulder injury. Shakib Al Hasan will also remain unavailable, having sustained a finger injury during the World Cup clash against Sri Lanka.
