Liam Livingstone Gets Fresh Start At CSK
Livingstone will be hoping for a better run at CSK after struggling to make a consistent impact in the IPL in recent seasons.
The England all-rounder has scored 1,066 runs in 49 IPL innings at a strike rate of 155.16. He has represented multiple franchises, including Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, before joining Sunrisers Hyderabad.
His stint with SRH did not go as planned. Livingstone got only two opportunities last season and managed just 15 runs.
The all-rounder has shown what he can do when in form. His best IPL season came when he scored 437 runs in 14 innings at an impressive strike rate of 182.08.
CSK will hope that a change of franchise helps Livingstone rediscover that form. He will join the five-time champions for Rs 6 crore, considerably lower than the Rs 13 crore at which SRH had originally signed him.
Jack Edwards Joins CSK At Existing Fee
CSK have also added another Australian to their squad in the form of Jack Edwards.
The seam-bowling all-rounder was signed by SRH before making his international debut for Australia. However, he could not feature in IPL 2026 after a foot injury ruled him out of the tournament.
Edwards will now get an opportunity to make his IPL debut with CSK. He will remain on his existing contract of Rs 3 crore.
His ability to contribute with both bat and ball could give CSK another option as they prepare for the 2027 season.
Khaleel Ahmed Returns To Sunrisers Hyderabad
Khaleel Ahmed will be heading back to a familiar dressing room after his move from CSK to SRH.
The left-arm pacer began his IPL career with Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2018 and remained with the franchise until 2021. His most successful season for SRH came in 2019, when he picked up 19 wickets.
Khaleel later joined CSK and had a productive IPL 2025 campaign, taking 15 wickets in 14 matches. However, his IPL 2026 season was cut short after he suffered a right quadriceps injury. He managed to play only five matches.
The Indian pacer will join SRH at his existing fee of Rs 4.8 crore. The move gives him an opportunity to return to the franchise where he first made his mark in the IPL.
Nathan Ellis Adds To SRH’s Pace Attack
SRH have also secured the services of Australian fast bowler Nathan Ellis as part of the deal.
Ellis, who will move to Hyderabad at his existing fee of Rs 2 crore, is known for his variations and ability to bowl effectively in the death overs.
