India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand, which begins on November 4. The pacer was named in India’s squad for the first three matches, but he is scheduled to undergo match simulations at the CoE on November 1 and 2. The Daily Jagran understands that Krishna will not be available for the ODI series.
Auqib Nabi Set To Join Squad For First Three ODIs
With Krishna ruled out, Jammu and Kashmir all-rounder Auqib Nabi is set to be included in India’s squad for the first three ODIs as well. Nabi had earlier been named in the squad for the final two matches of the series. However, Krishna will be seen in action for India in the two-Test match series against New Zealand.
How Did Prasidh Krishna Sustain The Injury?
Krishna suffered a left hamstring injury during the second ODI against the West Indies in Guwahati on September 30, 2026. He was subsequently named in India’s squad for the first three ODIs against New Zealand, but his selection was subject to fitness.

However, with his recovery taking longer than anticipated, the Indian pacer will miss the upcoming series.
Why BCCI announced two squads for ODI series vs New Zealand?
Notably, BCCI have announced two squads for the five-match ODI series against New Zealand, with Shubman Gill set to lead India in the first three matches before being rested for the final two games. Vice-captain Shreyas Iyer will take over the captaincy in Gill’s absence.
The Daily Jagran earlier reported that the players have been rested for the last two ODIs as the team management looks to manage their workload ahead of the two-match Test series. Krishna, who is out of the ODI squad, will be seen featuring in the Tests.
