Big Bash League 2023-24: Nikhil Chaudhary, an Indian-born cricketer has been a highlighted name in the ongoing season of Big Bash League as the star player continues to impress as a finisher for Hobart Hurricanes.

Nikhil has played two crucial innings and has picked up three wickets with his unorthodox leg-spin this season but is keen to learn more, especially the art of finishing from teammate Tim David.

Having played with the likes of Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, and Shubman Gill in the Indian domestic circuit, Nikhil is a huge Virat Kohli fan as he expressed how passionately he has been following the former Indian captain for the last 10 years.

"For sure man. I am a big fan of his (Kohli's) aggression, and obviously skills. But how good he is as a cricketer. I have been totally following him for the last 10 years. And he has been growing and growing," Nikhil told Hobart Hurricanes in an interview.

The BBL 2023/24 edition is the first competitive season for Nikhail since 2019 who moved to Australia in 2020.

Fulfilling his dream to play in the BBL, the Punjabi boy impressed everyone with his brilliant 31-ball 40 on debut for Hurricanes last month.

Having dreamt of becoming a pacer early in his career, Nikhil transitioned to off-spin and later leg-spin but when it comes to batting, he has an ambition to become one of the tournament's feared finishers.

The 27-year-old is just the second Indian-borm men's cricketer to feature in the BBL after Unmukt Chand as he aims to learn the art of finishing from one of the most destructive batters right now Tim David.

"I've been talking to him for the last couple of months now when I signed the contract, he messaged me straight away and he was like, 'let's do this boy.' It's pretty great learning from him," Nikhil said.

A couple of days ago, Nikhil caught up with Aussie legend Brett Lee and had a memorable moment with the two talking in Hindi during a short conversation.

Lee, who has been hugely fond of Indian culture grabbed massive attention on social media with such a warm gesture during the BBL game.
